About Us:

Austin Education is a leading educational institution specialising in comprehensive tutoring services for students from Year 1 to Year 12. Since our establishment in 2014, we have been dedicated to fostering academic excellence and personal growth in our students. Our team consists of 40 full-time staff and over 220 part-time and casual professionals, including subject teachers, teaching assistants, and academic advisors. We are currently seeking passionate and motivated tutors to join our team. This role is ideal for current university students or recent graduates who are enthusiastic about helping primary and secondary students excel in their studies.

Position Details:

Role: Primary and Secondary Tutors (casual/part-time opportunities available)

Subjects (Years 7-12):

VCE Mathematical Methods, Specialist Mathematics, or Further Mathematics

VCE Chemistry

VCE Physics

VCE Biology

Year 7-10 Science

Location: Melbourne CBD, Box Hill, Mount Waverley (on-campus)

Work Hours: After-school hours, weekends, or flexible schedules to suit your availability.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct group or one-on-one tutoring sessions for primary and secondary students.

Deliver engaging lessons aligned with the Victorian curriculum.

Create a supportive and positive learning environment to foster student confidence and academic growth.

Collaborate with colleagues to ensure continuity of learning for students.

Develop and adapt lesson plans and materials using tools such as PowerPoint, PDFs, and Zoom.

Stay informed about curriculum updates and best teaching practices.

Prepare students for VCE assessments, SACs, and final exams.

About You:

Currently studying or completed a Bachelor’s degree in Education or a relevant field.

Hold a Working with Children Check (WWCC) or Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration, or willing to apply for one upon successful appointment.

Strong knowledge of VCE assessment criteria and study design.

Demonstrated understanding of the Victorian curriculum (previous tutoring/teaching experience is a plus).

Ability to adapt teaching strategies to suit diverse learning styles.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.

Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students of diverse backgrounds.

Organised, reliable, and passionate about education.

Able to prepare and tailor lesson plans and worksheets using basic office applications such as PowerPoint slides, PDF and Zoom.
