Our client is a Federal Government agency based in Canberra, responsible for delivering policies that enhance the health and wellbeing of Australians.

The Opportunity

This team plays a key role in delivering critical functions for the country.

The position is offered as a 12-month labour hire contract, with the possibility of extension or permanency.

While experience within a Federal Government agency is highly regarded, this is a great opportunity for someone looking to enter the Australian Public Service, especially if you have experience in financial operations and financial reporting within the private sector.

The Role

Key responsibilities include:

• Timely and accurate processing of month-end duties including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting
• Preparation of FBT and BAS
• Maintaining financial and travel processing
• Credit card management and treasury duties
• Day-to-day accounts payable, accounts receivable, and receipting
• Answering finance related quires and manage mailbox
• Expense8 support and general travel and expense assistance

The Ideal Person

You are a Finance Officer or Accountant with working experience in FBT, BAS, journal entries, reconciliations, and AP/AR functions. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. If you're enthusiastic, communicative, and enjoy working in a fast-paced, high-volume accounts environment, this role is for you.

Familiarity with Expense8 is a bonus, though the ability to quickly learn new financial systems is also highly desirable.

Successful candidates should be Australian Citizens with existing Baseline to be considered for this opportunity

Salary / Rate

• $50/hr - $55/hr + 11.5% Super
