Are you a passionate and experienced Head Chef ready to take charge of a kitchen and help create something exciting? Surfing Lizard Café in Secret Harbour is looking for an enthusiastic and talented Head Chef to fully manage our kitchen and work alongside our amazing team.

What we’re looking for:

At least 2 years of experience as a Head Chef, with proven leadership skills.

Creative and experienced in menu design, able to help craft a fresh and exciting menu based on our current offerings.

Ability to manage kitchen staff efficiently, keeping the team motivated and organized.

Strong communication skills to work closely with suppliers and the front-of-house team, ensuring smooth kitchen operations.

Excellent knowledge of kitchen procedures, food safety standards, and maintaining inventory.

Ability to manage suppliers, ensuring we always have high-quality ingredients at the best prices.

Cleanliness and a thorough understanding of Food Safety rules in Australia, ensuring that all kitchen operations meet the highest hygiene standards.

The Role:

Fully manage the kitchen, ensuring a smooth operation from prep to plate.

Help develop a new menu that builds on our current delicious offerings, bringing fresh ideas and creativity.

Work with the team to ensure the kitchen runs efficiently, from staff training to maintaining a positive work environment.

Communicate effectively with suppliers and front-of-house to ensure a seamless dining experience for our customers.

Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and ensure that all food safety regulations are followed.

Compensation & Benefits:

3-month trial at Level 4 restaurant award rate (Casual Rate).

After trial, $90,000 per year for full-time (12-month contract).

Opportunity for more benefits and salary negotiation after 12 months based on performance and growth.
