This Business Services Manager position (Tax & Accounting) is responsible for the management, development and administration of a portfolio of clients. This involves maintaining a high level of service to clients and producing a high standard of work.

This role represents a senior management position with the long-term opportunity to lead the accounting practice and team as Partner.

Our client aims to provide a collaborative work environment with a strong focus on client service. We are a multi-disciplinary business that works closely with small to medium sized businesses and high net worth individuals. We provide accounting, wealth and mortgage broking services to help our clients achieve their financial goals.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This position will have responsibility for the following:

Function as the key relationship manager for the provision of accounting advice and services to a diverse client portfolio

Coordinate and review work undertaken by accounting team members, as well as deliver final documents to clients.

Drive business development activities with potential and new client opportunities, including leading client meetings and presentations

Meet productivity and client budgets, providing feedback and guidance to accounting staff members and providing value-added services to clients.

Manage your own workflow and the team’s workflow. This involves the planning, delegation and the review of projects and jobs

Collaborate with the wider team (wealth management and mortgage broker services) to ensure consistent and quality advice is delivered to clients

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and attributes:

Bachelor degree in Commerce, Business or Accounting, including with a discipline in Finance

A common sense approach to how a business functions and adapting 'fit for purpose" business advisory skills

CA or CPA completed

Exceptionally good understanding of accounting standards and tax legislation

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

Committed to providing exceptional service to our clients

Proactive, initiative-taking and enthusiastic

Ability and interest to train, mentor and delegate tasks to a team of accountants

Ability to multi-task, work to tight reporting deadlines and prioritise workload

5+ years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in an accounting practice

Experience in MYOB and Xero are an advantage
