About the role

Belconnen Bowling Club is seeking an experienced and strategic General Manager to lead our busy and vibrant club in Hawker, ACT. As the General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all operations, financial management, and strategic planning to ensure the continued growth and success of our club. This is a full-time role based on-site at our Hawker location.

What you'll be doing

Providing strong leadership and management to the club's staff and operations

Developing and implementing strategic plans to drive the club's financial performance and growth

Overseeing all financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting

Fostering a positive and engaged club culture, ensuring excellent customer service

Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including members, suppliers, and the local community

Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards

Identifying and capitalising on new business opportunities to expand the club's offerings

What we're looking for

Significant experience (5+ years) in a senior management role within the hospitality or club industry

Proven track record of driving financial performance and operational excellence

Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team

Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking skills

Exceptional communication and stakeholder management capabilities

Thorough understanding of the regulatory environment and compliance requirements for clubs

Tertiary qualification in a relevant field (e.g. business, hospitality management) or equivalent experience
