We are seeking an experienced Systems Integration and Applications Engineer to join our clients leading edge state of the art business. A combined role of working directly with customers to determine requirements and then developing mission critical designs and solutions, utilising software applications such as IBM NodeRed programming and Javascript will see you quickly shortlisted as well as being able to demonstrate a solid understanding of wireless and radio technologies is essential.

You will be a self-starter within a team of specialists developing solutions and applications for broadband mobility, IoT edge computing devices & Private Mobile Radio systems. You will work on large new projects as well as provide maintenance of existing projects. This is a customer facing role, so your interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills must be excellent.

Key Responsibilities

· Develop NodeRed application software including preparation of design specifications, detailed design implementation, unit and integration testing with associated hardware meeting agreed timeframes and functional requirements. (essential)

· Provide technical assistance to all members of the application team, field maintenance, R&D as well as customers.

· Provide timescale input to the Director and other senior leaders engaged in planning and coordinating development project activities to develop an agreed strategy and timeframe for software development activities.

· Ensure all systems solutions and /or applications software development activities are carried out in accordance with the company’s quality system requirements. (some of these will apply to government emergency services)

· Prepare and/or review user level documentation (manuals, release notes etc.) as required to assist the Company and its customers in the successful implementation of systems and solutions, where so ever needed.

· Prepare and provide internal and external training on any products, systems and applications developed by yourself or the Company.

· On occasion interstate travel will be required to assist with the implementation of systems and applications software as necessary and as required.

Skills & experience required (to be shortlisted)

Tertiary education in Telecommunications, engineering or equivalent (essential)

Demonstrable experience in wireless and radio technologies

Extensive experience with NodeRED and Javascript.

Demonstrable experience in networking protocols as used in IP router applications.

Ability to read and understand technical specifications published by international standards organisations.

Proficient in the use of test instruments associated with software and hardware integration.

Excellent verbal and written communications skills, problem solving skills and team working abilities.

Web front-end development using ReactJS or Javascript. (Ideal)

C/C++ & Python programming skills (Ideal)

Understanding of TCP/IP network protocols. (Ideal)

Experience with task management and version control software such as Jira, Bugzilla, CVS and Git. (desirable)

2-Way mobile or POC LTE radio experience. (desirable)

Satellite experience (desirable)
