Sisters in the Community is a reputable NDIS service provider that supports people with many and varied disabilities. We aim to provide supports to LGBTQIA+ people and their community. Due to recent growth we are looking for a full-time Support Coordinator who matches our values and beliefs.
About the Role:
We are seeking a true leader whose approach is person-centred, and who is inclusive of diversity and who is attuned to the service users and their teams alike. By creating opportunities, and being a champion of possibility, you'll inspire your stakeholders to support each individual to realise the possibilities available to them. As a Support Coordinator / Psychosocial Recovery Coach at Sisters in the Community you will link NDIS participants with complex psychosocial and other disability needs to services and supports. The Psychosocial Recovery Coach will assist those who have Psychosocial Recovery Coach funding as part of their NDIS plan, by providing a recovery plan and assisting with linking to supports both clinical and non-clinical to ensure their plan is implemented in a way that meets the person’s goals, as well as, mentor/coach the individual on their recovery journey.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
MUST have CURRENT experience as a Support Coordinator and/or Psychosocial Recovery Coach. This is ESSENTIAL.
Lived or learned experience for a minimum of 2 years in Mental Health or Cert IV Mental Health or Peer Work.
Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Nursing, Human Services OR similar (desired)
Experience working with people with Psychosocial Disability (essential)
Successful experience in coordinating responsive, individualised support to participants with complex needs and their families.
A sound working knowledge of relevant legislation, NDIS procedural guidelines and the full range of community services that may be required by participants (essential)
Current First Aid and CPR credentials
NDIS Worker Screening, WWCC, Driver’s License, Right to Work in Australia
Sound administration and IT systems skills
Duty Classification Statement:
This role is paid in accordance with level 4 of the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2020 and the award defines how roles at this classification will work as below:
Employees at this level will work under general direction. Procedures and guidelines for their areas of work will generally already be established, although employees may be required to set outcomes and further expand work methods.
Level 4 employees may also need to supervise lower-level employees in areas that are more complex or to lead a team.
Due to their higher level of experience, employees may be asked to provide specialist advice in their area of expertise. They have a sound knowledge of program and activity policies. Employees who are working alone or as “sole employees” will commence work at this classification level.

You're an incredible communicator, and know the right words to use to speak to anybody.
Experience in providing services for people with disabilities, particularly those with high or complex needs.
Tertiary qualifications that underpins your practical knowledge (for example, a degree within the human services, community services and/or nursing field)
Experience in developing Person-Centred-Plans
Knowledge of legislation and safe work practices, and a commitment to policies and procedures
Financial acumen and the ability to manage within a prescribed budget and provide advocacy where needed
Computer literate and proficient in the use of software and systems
Ability to prioritise a workload, and respond to emerging situations with appropriate leadership decisions that protect all parties.
