About the Role:
This position involves developing and engaging with industry partners and schools to create mutually beneficial relationships. The goal is to enhance the profile of the School of Education and generate successful placement opportunities for our students. The coordinator is responsible for placing students in their professional experience practicums and ensuring a high level of customer service is maintained throughout the process.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Create and maintain successful industry relationships with schools and stakeholders to nurture on-going beneficial partnerships for student placement.
  • Negotiate school access for placements with industry partners and organise professional experience opportunities for our current Education students.
  • Provide on-going advice and support to students on a professional experience placement and to all students regarding their upcoming practicums.
  • Actively recruit and induct Professional Experience Supervisors.
  • Design, coordinate and conduct effective training sessions for mentors and placement supervisors.
  • Liaise with schools to ensure that the required mentors and practicum supervisors are assigned and maintain oversight to ensure all student, mentor and government requirements are managed effectively.
  • Maintain and develop essential documentation, up to date information and records relating to professional experience.
  • Support and work effectively with academic staff to successfully deliver a high quality and consistent professional experience.
  • Undertake other activities which the incumbent might reasonably be expected to do, and which are consistent with the accountabilities and responsibilities as listed above

Experience & Skills:

  • Demonstrated negotiation skills and the ability to build and successfully maintain positive industry partnerships and relationships.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to work cooperatively and sensitively with staff and students from a wide variety of cultures.
  • Demonstrated experience working both independently and as a team member with a proven ability to recognise and deal with conflict.
  • Proven ability to prioritise tasks, be well organised, meet deadlines and maintain an effective working environment with staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, organise, and deliver training sessions.
  • Demonstrated experience and competence in the use of digital technologies, including high-level capabilities with customer relationship databases.

Role Requirements:

  1. As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role
  2. This role requires that the successful candidate undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check
