Base Salary Range: Social & Community Services Award - Level B1.2 – 2.4, based on qualifications, skills, and experience
Salary Range: $32.79 - $45.58 per hour + super, subject to qualifications, skills, and experience
About Brodie's Magic
Brodie’s Magic is a not-for-profit (NFP) organization dedicated to providing the right supports and environment for Brodie to thrive. Brodie is a vibrant 15-year-old who loves music, outdoor activities, swimming, and bike riding. Despite his complex disabilities, Brodie is eager to gain more independence and live life to the fullest. He lives at home with his parents, his brother, and his therapy dog Minty.

As a Lifestyle Assistant (Support Worker), you will work closely with Brodie and his family, helping him achieve his goals and participate in activities he enjoys. Brodie loves being outdoors, bike riding, swimming, and engaging with music, so sharing these interests will be an asset. Your role will involve assisting Brodie with everyday tasks, including personal care, supporting his social interactions, and providing the right level of assistance to help him develop his independence.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Collaborating with Brodie’s family and the team to help him meet his goals and enjoy life
• Reflecting and adapting to improve Brodie’s quality of life
• Supporting Brodie in participating in daily activities and personal care, and providing updates on progress
• Encouraging Brodie to engage in social interactions and recognize the value in everyday moments
• Providing assistance to Brodie with a focus on promoting his independence and autonomy
• Developing a positive, respectful relationship with Brodie, focusing on shared interests and enjoyable interactions
• Communicating effectively with Brodie, adjusting your approach to meet his needs using both verbal and non-verbal communication techniques
• Collaborating with the broader team to create meaningful activities and ensure a culture of inclusion and empowerment
• Administering medication as required
This role involves supporting Brodie outside of school hours. Shifts are generally weekdays from 7:00 am – 9:00 am and 3:30 pm – 6:30 pm, and weekends from 8:00am – 4:00 pm. Availability for school holidays from 7:00 am – 5:00 pm is required. Occasional evening work and sleepover shifts may be available for the right candidate. Pay will be aligned with your experience, qualifications, and skills.
About You

You will be proactive, willing to learn, and passionate about supporting people with disabilities in living empowered, ordinary lives.

The team will provide guidance and support throughout your journey with Brodie. You’ll work closely with Brodie’s family, so it’s important that you are comfortable working within a home environment that is respectful and supportive.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
• Certificate IV in Disability Services (or working towards an equivalent qualification) is beneficial but not mandatory, Allied Health and Nursery students are encouraged to apply.
• A passion for helping people with disabilities live ordinary lives and connect with their community
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate with a diverse team
• A solutions-focused approach to problem-solving
• A caring, empathetic nature
• Passion for making a positive impact on Brodie’s life
• Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Experience in administering medications (desirable)
• A current Driver’s Licence, Working with Children Check, First Aid Certificate, Police & NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Medical clearance may be required to confirm your ability to perform physical tasks required for the role
