We are looking for experienced sparkies with a passion for solar and cutting-edge energy solutions. This is a temp to perm role based in Perth and surrounding area.
Requirements: Current WA Electrical License
Experience: 2-3 years of post-trade experience in Solar/ Commercial
Pay rate: $65 - $75 per hour depending on experience
Key Responsibilities:
Battery Storage Systems: Setting up and wiring battery storage units, ensuring proper voltage levels and integration with power management systems.
Inverter & Charger Installation: Installing inverters and chargers, converting DC to AC power or vice versa, ensuring proper installation and testing.
Low Voltage (LV) Systems: Installing and working on low voltage systems including transformers, circuit breakers, and other critical electrical components.
Electrical Testing: Performing tests on components including insulation resistance tests, continuity tests, and voltage checks.
System Integration & Calibration: Verifying proper integration of all electrical components and calibrating to optimize performance.
System Monitoring & Maintenance: Identifying electrical faults, diagnosing issues, and performing regular inspections, cleaning, and repairs as needed.
Repairs: Troubleshooting and fixing electrical faults with wiring, inverters, batteries, and other components.
Key Responsibilities for Quality Assurance (QA):
Compliance with Standards: Ensuring all electrical work complies with local, state, and national electrical codes and industry standards (e.g., AS/NZS 3000, IEC standards).
Inspection of Equipment: Conducting inspections of electrical components like inverters and transformers to ensure proper installation and functioning.
Documentation: Maintaining detailed records of installations, inspections, tests, and troubleshooting for audits and compliance checks.
Testing & Commissioning: Conducting electrical tests to verify systems function correctly before energizing.
Issue Identification & Reporting: Recognizing electrical issues or hazards and promptly reporting them for corrective action.
Troubleshooting: Diagnosing faults and efficiently resolving issues with wiring, equipment, or connections.
Safety Checks: Adhering to strict safety protocols, using PPE, and implementing lock-out/tag-out procedures.
Quality Control: Ensuring all electrical installations meet high-quality standards and conducting final quality checks.
Training & Mentoring: Providing guidance to apprentices or less experienced electrical workers, ensuring understanding of QA procedures.
The successful applicant has the following skills and experience:
A-grade electrical license
Experience with commercial solar - 100kW+ is highly desirable
Current manual Western Australian driver's license
White card
Working at heights certification
Solar installation experience
SAA Solar accreditation
SAA Battery accreditation is desirable
Elevated work platform license and First Aid certification are advantageous
