About the Hotel

Opening its doors in July 2021, this 101 room 4/4.5-star hotel has recently completed a full refurbishment resulting in a complete transformation from its former identity. Located in the heart of Cairns CBD, The Benson Hotel boasts a mix of facilities including a restaurant, café and bar/lounge, conference and meeting rooms, car parking and an outdoor swimming pool.

The Gig

We are looking for a savvy Room Division Manager to join our incredible Hotel. This is a leadership role that will give room and scope to grow and have significant input into the evolution of our hotel brand in Australia. You will be responsible for managing front office and housekeeping operations and working along side the General Manager and the sales, marketing and revenue team, all while acting as a senior manager of the Hotel. This a Full-Time role and will require flexibility within availability. Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

Leadership and Supervision: Oversee the Front Office (reception, reservations), Housekeeping, Maintenance and sometimes other departments.

Guest Experience: Ensure a positive and comfortable stay for all guests, addressing complaints and managing VIP guests.

Staff Management: Recruit, train, and motivate staff in their respective departments.

Operational Efficiency: Optimize room operations, maintain quality standards, and manage inventory.

Financial Management: Review and audit expenses, develop operational strategies, and contribute to profitability.

Performance Management: Track key performance indicators, review guest feedback, and implement improvements.

Strategic Planning: Contribute to the hotel's overall business strategy and development.

Problem-Solving: Address issues and ensure smooth daily operations.

Strong Leadership and Supervisory Skills: Ability to motivate and manage a team.

Excellent Communication Skills: Effective interaction with guests and staff.

Hospitality Experience: Previous experience in hospitality or guest services, ideally with supervisory experience.

Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Ability to identify and address issues effectively.

Attention to Detail: Ensuring high quality standards.

Knowledge of hotel systems and operations: Understanding of front office, housekeeping, and reservations procedures. RMS is the system sued at the Hotel
