Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and drive the delivery of consistently high-quality meals across all areas of our food service. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, creativity in menu development, and a solid understanding of food safety and kitchen management in a high-volume environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, including rostering, ordering, and stock control

Develop and implement seasonal menus and specials aligned with customer preferences and club standards

Ensure food is prepared and presented to a consistently high standard

Maintain compliance with food safety, hygiene, and WHS regulations

Train, mentor, and motivate kitchen staff to achieve performance and development goals

Monitor food cost controls, waste management, and portion control to meet budget targets

Liaise with club management to plan for events, functions, and promotions

Uphold a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment at all times

Requirements

Minimum 3–5 years’ experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a high-volume kitchen

Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)

Proven leadership, communication, and team-building skills

Strong understanding of budgeting, food costing, and stock control

Creativity and passion for delivering high-quality, innovative meals

Solid knowledge of HACCP, food safety supervisor certificate, and WHS regulations

Flexibility to work across a rotating roster including nights, weekends, and public holidays

Previous experience in a club, pub, or similar venue highly regarded
