Payroll Specialist - Projects (Contract)

4-6 Month Contract, with extensions

Overview:

We're partnering with a leading retail organisation undergoing a significant payroll systems transformation. This role offers the chance to work on a high-impact UKG implementation project alongside a collaborative and experienced payroll and project team.

You'll bring your end-to-end payroll expertise and award interpretation knowledge to support testing, implementation, and compliance activities. The business is also launching a second global payroll project, providing the opportunity to gain international project exposure.

Key Responsibilities:

Participate in the UKG (Kronos) project - focused on design and payroll testing phases.

Interpret Enterprise Agreements (EAs) and relevant Awards (specifically the VRSR Award) to ensure accuracy during testing.

Support end of financial year (EOFY) payroll processing.

Action audit items, specifically relating to superannuation.

Explore legislative obligations under Payday Super changes.

Join the project team for an upcoming implementation of a new global outsourced payroll solution

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Strong end-to-end payroll experience, ideally at Team Lead or Manager level.

Previous experience working on payroll system implementations and/or transformation projects.

Proficient in interpreting EAs and Awards, especially within complex or regulated industries.

Knowledge of SAP ECC6, UKG (Kronos), and Excel (advanced).

Up-to-date understanding of Australian payroll legislation, including Payday Super obligations.

Highly organised, self-driven, and comfortable operating in a project-based environment.

Industry background is flexible - experience in retail or large-scale organisations a bonus.
