The Opportunity

HRMatrix has been engaged by a high-profile organisation in the resources sector to support them with recruiting an experienced Project/Systems Accountant on a temp-to-perm basis. This position reports to an experienced Chief Financial Officer who oversees a high-performing finance team. You must be able to draw on your previous experience to provide the support the finance team requires to improve, streamline and maintain their system's reporting capabilities and data integrity.

This is an excellent opportunity to position yourself as a subject matter expert, to take on a pivotal position within the business and to contribute to developing and implementing their accounting systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities

Provide technical accounting and systems support to key business stakeholders and business units

Analyse and troubleshoot accounting system issues to identify and implement tailored solutions

Coordinate the design, development and implementation of new accounting systems and processes

Enhance the reporting capability and integrity of the financial information provided by their systems

Documenting accounting policies, procedures and controls to support effective internal controls

Assisting with period-end financial reporting and month-end close activities

Delivering training to end-users on the use of accounting systems and processes

Liaising with IT teams to ensure the effective operation of accounting systems and infrastructure

Requirements

Qualified Accountant (CPA or CA qualified) with previous experience in a similar role

Strong business intelligence/systems knowledge and experience

The ability to build good relationships between finance, operations and the IT team

Support the finance team with system-related requirements and queries

Develop reporting dashboards and improve monthly financial reporting

Proficient in the use of large accounting systems and ERP software, with the ability to configure, customise and troubleshoot

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with both financial and non-financial stakeholders

Demonstrated experience in leading accounting system implementation projects and driving process improvement

Adaptable and resilient, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
