Workfast is currently seeking qualified Pipe Fitters with mechanical experience to join our team working on a major Water Treatment Plant project.

This is a fantastic opportunity for skilled tradespeople with water infrastructure experience to secure ongoing work on Sydney Water sites.

• Consistent 40-hour weeks (8–10 hour days) with occasional overtime

• Long-term, ongoing role with a reputable contractor
• Temp to Perm opportunity (transition to full-time role)
• Work on major infrastructure projects across Sydney Water sites

Requirements:

• Excavator Operator ticket
• Rigger / Dogman tickets
• Confined Space, Working at Heights, or other relevant tickets

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Pipe Fitter with mechanical experience, ideally in water treatment or similar industrial environments
• Australian Recognised Trade Certificate in relevant discipline
• White Card (Construction Induction Card) – mandatory
• Valid Australian work rights (citizen, permanent resident, or unrestricted visa)
• Strong understanding and commitment to site safety protocols
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team
• Able to follow instructions and work autonomously where required
• Desirable but not essential:
• Local to Wollongong / Illawara area or Southern Sydney, willing to travel to site

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform mechanical maintenance on water treatment equipment and plant machinery
• Maintain and repair pipes, valves, conveyors, and pumps
• Assist with general labouring tasks around the plant as needed
• Support daily operations to ensure smooth functionality of the treatment plant
• Participate in site toolbox talks and maintain strong safety practices
