We are proud to partner with a leading Queensland Government Department to recruit a dynamic Senior Communications Advisor to shape the public image and engagement strategy for a significant infrastructure initiative.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned communications professional to make a real impact through strategic leadership, effective stakeholder engagement, and high-quality content creation. You'll be instrumental in fostering strong relationships between the project team, community stakeholders, and the broader public.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver strategic communication and engagement plans aligned with project milestones.
• Lead and support public consultation initiatives to build trust and address community concerns.
• Create compelling communications for a variety of platforms - including media releases, newsletters, social media and internal updates.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including contractors, project managers and government bodies.
• Prepare high-quality materials including speeches, presentations and briefing notes.
• Monitor media, public sentiment, and trends to inform communications strategy.
• Manage crisis communications and implement swift issue resolution strategies.
• Provide expert advice to senior leadership on communications and community engagement.
• Evaluate communication outcomes and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Mentor junior team members and promote a collaborative team culture.
• Maintain compliance with all ethical, legal and organisational communication standards.

What We're Looking For:

• Minimum five years' experience in a communication and community engagement role, ideally in infrastructure, construction or government.
• Strong writing, editing and presentation skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive and strategic approach with the ability to manage complex issues calmly and effectively.
• Strong project management capabilities with the ability to balance competing priorities.
• Proven experience delivering impactful communication and engagement outcomes.
• IAP2 Certification or a willingness to obtain independently.

Desirable:

• Current Class C Driver's Licence.
• Understanding of the Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia framework.
