The Role
You will be the Human Resources Officer working with all staff members in administrating and performing human resources duties 15 hours per week over 2 or 3 days. We are open to an applicant who is only available to work school hours.
Reporting directly to the General Manager you will be responsible for maintaining not just the quality of work, but for the culture and team in line with the company values.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be required to work efficiently and diligently in a professional environment and will need a strong work ethic and the ability to multitask to meet strict deadlines.
Work Closely with department managers to coordinate the recruitment processes, including advertising job vacancies, shortlisting candidates, and attending interviews.
Prepare employment contracts and manage pre-employment checks.
Facilitate onboarding programs to ensure new employees are integrated effectively.
Maintain accurate employee records in the HR information system (HRIS).
Ensure compliance with Australian employment laws and regulations.
Provide advice to managers and employees on workplace policies and procedures.
Assist in resolving workplace issues, grievances, and disputes in line with company policies.
Support performance management processes, including reviews and improvement plans.
Identify training needs in collaboration with managers.
Assist with organizing professional development programs to enhance employee skills.
Maintain training records for compliance purposes.
Prepare HR reports for management, such as turnover rates, workforce demographics, or training statistics.
Monitor changes in employment laws and update policies accordingly.
Ensure compliance with modern awards and National Employment Standards (NES).
Assist managers with workforce planning and succession planning initiatives.
Provide support during organizational changes or restructuring processes.
Contribute to the development of HR policies and procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or related field
Prior experience in a similar role preferred
Advanced knowledge of HR systems and policies.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Familiarity with employment laws and WHS regulations.
Advanced Excel skills and competence in other Microsoft Office application.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multi-task, work within deadlines and under pressure.
Professional presentation and ability to communicate with a diverse range of cultures
