Job Overview:
Disability Matters Inc. is seeking a dynamic and dedicated professional to join our team as a combined Human Resources and Workplace Health and Safety Officer. This role, based in Atherton, plays a pivotal part in ensuring the well-being of our employees and the safety of our clients while championing our commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Key Responsibilities:
As the Combined Human Resources and Workplace Health and Safety Officer, you will be responsible for:
Human Resources:
Assisting with recruitment processes, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
Administering HR policies and procedures and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Assisting in the development of training programs and career development initiatives.
Providing support and guidance to employees regarding HR-related matters.
Maintaining accurate HR records and documentation.
Providing guidance and support to employees regarding their benefits and entitlements.
Workplace Health and Safety (WHS):
Overseeing WHS compliance and promoting a culture of safety within the organization.
Conducting risk assessments and implementing measures to mitigate workplace hazards.
Coordinating safety training and awareness programs for employees.
Managing incident reporting, investigation, and corrective action plans.
Overseeing, supporting and implementing all RRTW requirements, as required.
Keeping abreast of WHS regulations and recommending changes to policies as needed.
Qualifications:
A qualification or significant experience in either Human Resources, or Workplace Health and Safety, or a related field is highly desirable. The ideal candidate would have both.
Proven experience in HR and WHS roles, preferably in the healthcare, not for profit or disability sector.
Strong knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices.
Strong knowledge of WHS principals and practices
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
