Key Support Worker – Supported Independent Living (SIL)

Resolute Care is a fast-growing NDIS provider in the Townsville region, seeking a Key Support Worker to play a crucial role in delivering high-quality care and consistency within a Supported Independent Living (SIL) home.
In this role, you’ll be the key point of contact supporting participants, guiding team collaboration, and ensuring daily care aligns with participant goals and NDIS standards. You’ll act as the vital link between support workers, management, and external stakeholders, promoting independence and wellbeing for people with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
1. Participant-Centred Support:
Provide direct care and support to SIL participants in accordance with their NDIS plans, ensuring that care is person-centred and aligns with their individual goals.
Support participants in their daily activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, medication administration, and social/community engagement.
Foster independence by encouraging and empowering participants to make decisions about their own care and activities.
2. Staff Mentoring and Supervision:
Mentor and supervise a team of support workers, ensuring they deliver care according to NDIS quality standards and participant needs.
Provide guidance and support to support workers in handling challenging behaviours, safeguarding, and other complex needs of participants.
Conduct regular team meetings and 1:1 supervision sessions with support workers to monitor performance, address concerns, and provide ongoing professional development.
3. Training and Induction:
Facilitate buddy shifts for new support workers, ensuring they understand SIL house policies, participant-specific care plans, and the principles of participant-centred care.
Provide mentorship to staff on areas such as personal care, manual handling, medication administration, and positive behaviour support.
4. Community Access and Engagement:
Facilitate participants' involvement in the local community, encouraging participation in social, recreational, and educational activities.
Coordinate community access outings and ensure participants are supported in line with their individual needs and preferences.
