We are on the lookout for a new Sous Chef to join our team at the Coolangatta Surf Club.

Our beachfront location and modern menu generate a very busy (and growing!) bistro trade for our 300pax bistro, delivering daily lunch and dinner service, as well as a range of all-day dishes, snacks and pizzas.
The successful candidate will support the Head and Senior Sous Chef in running daily service with our medium sized kitchen team, made up of a diverse bunch of professional yet laid back chefs, cooks and kitchen hands. In this role you can expect to work a mix of day and evening shifts, and enjoy regular weekends off!

Duties of the role will include:
Ensuring the highest quality control of product
Assisting with menu design
Training, developing and mentoring more junior staff
Provide strong and clear leadership
Be systems orientated and a strong team player
Project a positive and motivated attitude among Chefs and other team members
Promote harmony and positivity between staff members and the wider Front of House service team
We’re looking for someone with the following skills, experience and attributes:
Trade Qualification
Minimum of two (2) years experience in a qualified chef role
Strong understanding of Food, Safety and Hygiene practices
Excellent communicator at all levels, and strong interpersonal skills
Acts with integrity, honesty, and fairness towards colleagues, suppliers, and customers
Adaptable and a willingness to learn and grow
Ability to remain calm under pressure
