Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Welding Supervisor/Inspector with AS2214 and AS1796 Cert 10 qualifications to join our team. This senior role involves Welding Consulting with external parties, overseeing Welding Procedures and Welder Qualifications. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in welding supervision, quality control, and a thorough understanding of Australian welding standards and codes.

Key Responsibilities:

- Supervise welding operations and provide technical guidance to welding teams

- Conduct visual inspections of welds according to Australian Standards

- Perform welding inspections and quality control checks at various stages of production

- Review and approve Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR)

- Verify welder qualifications and maintain certification records

- Identify and resolve welding quality issues

- Train and mentor welders on proper techniques and quality standards

- Collaborate with customers to ensure welding requirements are met

- Prepare and maintain detailed inspection reports and documentation

- Implement and enforce safety protocols in the welding department

Required Qualifications and Skills:

- AS2214 Certification for Welding Supervisor

- AS1796 Cert 10 Welding Inspector qualification

- Minimum 5+ years of experience in welding supervision and inspection

- Thorough knowledge of welding processes including TIG, MIG, FCAW, and Stick welding

- Experience with various materials including carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum

- Strong understanding of welding codes and standards (AS/NZS, ASME, AWS)

- Knowledge of non-destructive testing methods (VT, PT, MT)

- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

- Must be a resident of Western Australia or willing to relocate

- Must have the legal right to work in Australia

Desirable Skills:

- Additional NDT certifications (MT, PT)

- Experience in the mining, oil & gas, or defense industries

- Experience with automated welding systems

- Familiarity with quality management systems (ISO 9001)

- Experience with welding procedure development and optimization

Working Hours:

- 40 hours per week with potential for overtime

- Monday to Friday
