Part-time - Fixed-term position

About the role:

We are currently seeking a part-time Transition Coach to join our Specialised Support team in Emerald. Our Coach will support young people by providing culturally appropriate, proactive, and practical support as they transition from care services to adulthood.

What will a typical day look like?

  • Assist young people in finding a safe and affordable place to live.
  • Support young people in gaining access to legal advice when needed.
  • Support young people to access training, preparation for employment and resume writing.
  • Support young people to understand management of finances and entitlements.
  • Identify young person’s goals and facilitate the transition of the young person into adulthood.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention/Community Services or equivalent.

All other training is available through AnglicareCQ.

Desirable:

  • Relevant experience in child protection.

  • A strong communicator, able to quickly build rapport and influence across a diverse range of people.
