About
We’re not your typical business or accounting function. We’re a mid-sized, high-growth company and fast paced team going through an exciting transformation journey—both commercially and culturally. With growing revenue, an expanding international footprint, and bold ambitions, we’re evolving from a fast-moving operator to a strategically led, data-driven brand.
What’s powering this shift? An executive team that's rolling up their sleeves, backed by a CFO who’s not just commercially brilliant - she’s genuinely inspiring to work with. We’re investing in the right systems and processes, the right structures, and most importantly, the right people to take us to the next level. The business is fast, raw in places, and full of opportunity. If you’re someone who likes building the plane while flying it - this is your kind of gig.
Working in the Melbourne CBD, around the buzzing cafe and restaurant precinct, this team will have the opportunity to work together in a positive office environment and also from home allowing the execution of the role while still maintaining flexibility for your out of work life commitments!
The Opportunity
This Financial Controller role is an opportunity to act as the CFO’s true right hand to her strong commercial and strategic mindset - and the person who will help take the finance function from numbers to commercial growth and operation. You’ll step into a broad and varied role leading everything from financial control and reporting, through to audit and compliance, systems, process improvement and beyond.
The position encompasses consolidation of entities operating in multiple markets, and is in the thick of driving automation through NetSuite and exploring deep other integrations to standardise, simplify and automate accounting and finance processes. There’s complexity, but also clarity: the CFO has a sharp vision and needs someone technical, practical and proactive by her side to deliver on it. You’ll lead and grow a capable team across Financial Accounting, AR, and Ops - and shape what the next evolution of finance looks like here.
If you’re looking for neat and polished - this won’t be for you. But if you’re looking for impact, pace, and a leadership seat at the table dealing with the ELT and board this is a great opportunity to scale your career.
What You'll Do
As Financial Controller, you’ll play a pivotal role in leading the finance function. You’ll have full visibility and control of the numbers, while also helping to drive commercial and strategic outcomes in partnership with the CFO. Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the day-to-day financial operations across 15 entities (Australia and overseas), ensuring timely and accurate reporting
- Own the month-end and year-end processes, including journals, reconciliations, intercompany eliminations, and group consolidations
- Manage statutory compliance, tax obligations, and external audits across multiple jurisdictions
- Develop, lead, and mentor a growing finance team—currently 4–5 staff including Financial Accountants, Finance Officer, and Accounts Receivable
- Oversee the delivery of key financial reports, board packs, and insights to support decision-making
- Drive continuous improvement and automation within the NetSuite ERP system
- Lead and support cross-functional projects, including CRM-to-ERP integration and finance-related systems upgrades
- Build scalable processes, controls, and frameworks to support future growth
- Provide commercial input to business cases, supplier negotiations, and budgeting processes
- Act as a key advisor to the CFO and a trusted leader within the broader business
What You'll Bring
You’re a technically strong, commercially aware finance professional who thrives in fast-paced environments where structure is still being built. CA or CPA qualified, you bring deep experience as a Financial Controller or senior finance manager in a complex, multi-entity environment. You’ve led teams, owned end-to-end financial operations, and worked closely with executive leadership to influence decision-making.
NetSuite experience is essential - you know how to get the most from the system, and you’ve probably led or supported systems improvements or integrations in the past. You’re confident in managing audits, and building reporting frameworks. You're hands-on when needed, comfortable in ambiguity, and bring a steady, solutions-focused mindset.
Why Join Us
This is an opportunity to work shoulder-to-shoulder with a commercial CFO - someone who is not only sharp but also committed to developing great people. You’ll gain exposure to strategic projects, complex financial operations, and executive decision-making in a way that will accelerate your growth as a finance leader. You’ll be given real ownership, the freedom to make improvements, and the support to take your career to the next level.
The role offers a competitive salary, and the chance to lead a function that’s modernising in real time. You’ll work in a business that moves fast, embraces change, and values people who bring ideas, energy, and accountability. Beyond the numbers, there’s a collaborative team culture, a CFO who genuinely invests in her people, and a business that backs those who step up.
