About the Role
The Digital and Information Services branch delivers agile and transformative information and technology, enabling council to be a leader in providing innovative and sustainable services to its communities.
The Data Engineer / SQL Specialist will enhance the organisation's data-driven decision-making capabilities through use of the Enterprise Data Management Platform by delivering expert SQL data management and data engineering services.
· Write complex queries to extract, manipulate, and analyse data in both cloud and on-premise environments.
· Develop and implement complex data views to meet specific business requirements, while maintaining data integrity, security, and governance compliance.
· Collaborate with data analysts and business intelligence professionals to ensure data is available and transformed to meet requirements.
· Experience in use of Azure DevOps and a solid understanding of software development processes, including version control and CI/CD pipelines.
About you
You will have extensive demonstrated experience in the application of developing SQL queries for data management including extraction, manipulation, and analysis of data.
Have proficient with Azure DevOps and a solid understanding of software development processes, including version control and CI/CD pipelines.
You will have demonstrated experience in developing and optimising data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and storage within Azure data lake and Azure SQL.
As a requirement of this role, you will possess a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Data Science and/or substantial experience working in data engineering or data science roles in a large multi-disciplinary organisation.
