Based in our headquarters in Grafton, the Clinical Educator/Coordinator will, together with a colleague form a team that provides clinical nursing expertise and leadership for individual clients and or groups. The Clinical Educator/Coordinator position plays a critical role in the education and professional development of frontline workers. The successful candidate will contribute to advisory and participation in planning, coordination, development and implementation of policies, procedures, protocols and standards for the provision of safe and effective clinical care and education. As a team you are responsible for the coordination, implementation & evaluation of strategies to build our clinical competence, primarily with respect to the NDIS high intensity skill descriptors; thereby ensuring safe and effective care delivery for Caringa’s clients, including those with complex clinical needs.
You will also be integral to the delivery of NDIS-funded High Intensity Daily Personal Activities (HIDPA) supports, including but not limited to continence assessments, complex bowel care plans, subcutaneous injections, in accordance with individual client disability-related needs.
Essential:
Current Authority to Practice (Division 1) as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Experience with clinical education and training delivery
Current NSW Drivers Licence - Minimum Class C
Must hold a NDIS Worker Check Clearance
Must hold a valid Working with Children Check, or be able to obtain one prior to commencement of employment (employee responsibility)
Required Knowledge and Experience:
Understanding of and commitment to work within the values and philosophy of Caringa and ability to work in accordance with the NDIS Code of Conduct
A minimum of 2-3 years post basic registration experience
Experience in providing education, mentoring and support to staff/colleagues in their current workplace.
Demonstrated commitment to clinical and professional development.
Sound theoretical knowledge and demonstrated experience in utilising a range of teaching and learning strategies to support worker development including e-learning platforms.
Evidence of professional leadership and updating own clinical competencies to ensure education and training delivery is in line with current best practice standards.
Advanced computer skills and use of software programs to develop and deliver education and training, maintain training recipient data, and generate reports.
Advanced written, oral communication and interpersonal skills, including communicating effectively with stakeholders from a diverse range of backgrounds and groups.
Demonstrated ability to use initiative, work autonomously within your area of responsibility.
Demonstrated knowledge of WHS requirements and an ability and commitment to maintain WHS in the workplace.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Demonstrate effective time management skills and the ability to be flexible and responsive to operational requirements.
Ability to maintain confidentiality, privacy and to work in a position of trust.
Desirable:
Experience in Disability, Aged Care, Community Nursing or Primary Health
GP experience
Care planning experience
