The Opportunity:

Join a growing in-house engineering and design team in this newly established Senior Engineer position. This role plays a key part in delivering advanced, pragmatic, and compliant fire safety design solutions across multiple divisions and client portfolios. As a senior member of the team, you will drive design excellence and provide technical leadership within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

This is a full time, permanent, Monday-Friday position. Please note that this role is to be based out of our clients Newcastle office with an ability to work a couple of days remotely during the week.

Our client is a trusted name in fire protection services, known for delivering high-performance solutions to the mining and heavy industry sectors. With a reputation built on quality and compliance, their team of certified professionals are experts in designing, installing, and maintaining customised systems that prioritise safety and operational reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end design of complex fire protection systems in line with Australian regulations and standards.
• Produce detailed engineering drawings and technical specifications using design tools such as AutoCAD and Revit.
• Manage projects from concept through to delivery, ensuring milestones, budgets, and client expectations are met.
• Work cross-functionally with project managers, site teams, and installation personnel to ensure seamless project execution.
• Engage directly with clients and contractors to deliver bespoke, cost-effective fire protection solutions tailored to their operational needs.

About You:

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or a related discipline).
• 7+ years of hands-on experience in fire protection system design, ideally within industrial or heavy industry environments.
• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or C10 accreditation in fire safety design is highly desirable.
• Proficient in industry-standard design software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.).
• Strong working knowledge of Australian fire safety standards, particularly AS 2118 and AS 2419.
• Demonstrated leadership, project management capability, and client-facing communication skills.
