Due to continued growth, we are currently seeking a Graduate/Junior Accountant to join our dynamic and growing accounting and tax team.

As a Graduate Accountant, you will be involved in all aspects of accounting and tax services, ensuring seamless reporting and lodgment with meticulous precision. You will have the opportunity to build strong knowledge and expertise navigating the complexities of accounting and tax framework. The Graduate Accountant will be an important member of our accounting and tax team.

About the role:

• Prepare information request list, collate relevant information, ensure compliance checklists are compiled and source documents are collected;
• Prepare BAS and IAS;
• Prepare general workpapers and spreadsheets with support of the client’s source documents;
• Prepare journal entries and financial statements;
• Prepare tax returns including individuals, partnerships, trusts, and companies;
• Tax research on relevant topics;
• Develop client relationships, proactively establish effective client relationships and continually look for ways to add value;
• Provide general support to team members, coordinate with accountants and liaise with clients.

About you:

• Tertiary qualification major in accounting or equivalent (provide a copy of your academic records upon application)
• Desire to undertake further relevant studies of CA, CPA (if not already)
• Minimum of 6 months prior practical experience in preparing financial statements and tax returns for sole traders, partnerships, trusts, and companies
• Knowledge of GST regulations and compliance requirements
• Exposure to accounting software including MYOB, Xero, and Quick Books, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to manage deadlines and workflow effectively
• Collaborative team player with demonstrated autonomy and proactive approach
• Australian Citizen / Permanent Resident based in Melbourne
