About the role

This full-time Seasonal Panstage Operator position at Rocky Point Sugar Mill in Woongoolba, QLD offers the opportunity to join a dynamic manufacturing team in the sugar production industry. You will be on a rotating 8 hour shift doing 12 day-fortnights during our cane season (June - December). As a Panstage Operator, you will play a crucial role in the crystal growth and molasses exhaustion stage of the sugar production process, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of the organisation.

Training will commence from the 12th of may.

What you'll be doing

Operating and maintaining the panstage equipment, including using control panels, operating valve, taking samples and measuring control variables to grow sugar crystals from syrup

Monitoring the sugar boiling process, adjusting temperatures, pressures and other parameters to ensure optimal yield and quality

Troubleshooting and resolving any issues with the panstage equipment to minimize downtime

Performing regular inspections and maintenance on the panstage and associated systems

Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment

Collaborating with the wider production operations and maintenance team to optimise the overall sugar manufacturing process

What we're looking for

Proven experience translatable to suitability a sugar boiler or similar role in a sugar mill or manufacturing environment

Ability to understanding manufacturing processes and the operation of industrial equipment

Ability to interpret process data and make adjustments

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to quickly identify and resolve equipment issues

Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to all safety protocols

Strong attention to detail and a focus on quality control

Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with other departments
