Ready to Elevate Your Legal Career in a Supportive, Fast-Growing Law Firm?
At JS Law Group, we’re more than just a law firm—we’re a family. Since launching in 2018, we’ve grown & doubled our business year-on-year while building a culture that values work-life balance alongside teamwork, integrity and high standards. We specialise in Property Law (primarily Conveyancing), Wills, Estates & Probate and Commercial Law, —and we're growing fast.
Our partner company, Mint Invest, is one of Australia’s fastest-growing property investment firms. Their cutting-edge technology and high volume of engaged clients keeping our work fast-moving and dynamic. In this role, you’ll also collaborate with their Acquisitions and Mortgage teams, adding variety and momentum to your day.
About the Role:
We’re seeking a talented, committed & driven lawyer to join our team immediately (mid to late April 2025 or early to mid-May 2025). You’ll work 20-30 hours per week over 3-5 days. We can be flexible with working days & hours. Enjoy the flexibility to work both in-office (Neutral Bay) and remotely from home!
The Principal Solicitor of the firm will be going on maternity leave from 3rd June 2025 (although this could be brought forward 1-2 weeks earlier or pushed back 1-2 weeks later).
The Principal Solicitor will absolutely mentor and support you as much as you need, but the less you need her, the better. This is mostly an autonomous role.
Key Benefits:
Up to $20K Property Purchase Assistance – Buy your first home or investment property through Mint Invest’s builder network.
Career Pathway – There are plenty of opportunities to grow with us.
Balanced Flexibility – You’ll enjoy autonomy & work remotely, but we also expect accountability, dedication & high standards.
Team Support – Admin support, plus onboarding and systems training if needed.
Competitive Remuneration – Including commissions for bringing in new clients.
What We’re Looking For:
We’re not looking for someone chasing an ultra-flexible lifestyle role or just “getting by.” We’re building a tight-knit, high-performing team—and we’re looking for someone who:
Takes pride in their work and goes the extra mile.
Thrives under pressure and can be relied on when things get busy.
Can work autonomously & takes responsibility for their work, but contributes positively to the broader team.
Understands the value of flexibility, but doesn’t expect to coast.
Wants to be part of something long-term and meaningful.
Is humble, hardworking and values both professionalism and people.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Predominantly manage Conveyancing Files: Handle residential (mostly purchase) files end-to-end across NSW, QLD, WA and VIC with minimal to no supervision.
Some purchases are done using the client's SMSF as the borrower (requiring a corporate trustee of a bare trust as the purchaser on the COS).
Experience providing clients with independent legal advice on their loan documents will also be highly regarded.
Run Estate Planning Matters: Prepare simple & complex Wills, POAs, and Enduring Guardianships with minimal to no supervision & explaining these documents to the client. Prepare trusts, Letters of Administration & Probate with minimal to no supervision.
Support Commercial & other Property Law Clients: Handle purchase/sale of business files in NSW with minimal to no supervision. Review & preparing Commercial or Retail Leases in NSW.
It will be beneficial for you to have a good understanding of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth).
Administrative work, as needed: Opening matters, taking file notes, preparing Costs Agreements & Invoices to be sent to the client.
Help Us Grow: Build trust with clients, bring in new ones (and earn commissions), and contribute to our growth.
What You’ll Bring:
1–2+ Years PQE, admitted in NSW. Restricted or unrestricted practising certificate (Unrestricted is preferred).
Experienced in Property Law, Wills & Estates & Commercial Law.
Confident managing conveyancing files across multiple states & wills & estates files from start to finish.
Access to a PC laptop (desirable but not essential).
Bonus: Experience with Smokeball and InfoTrack (desirable but not essential).
A calm, capable & solutions-focused mindset with excellent communication skills.
