You’re a proven Data Leader - perhaps you’ve held roles such as Head of Data, Data & Analytics Manager or Data Architect.

You’ve built trusted data ecosystems, led governance overhauls, and know exactly what it takes to shift an organisation from fragmented and siloed to insight driven.

But right now? You’re maintaining the status quo, not challenging it.

In this role, you’ll remain hands-on while leading a small data team (3 direct reports) that you’ll elevate and guide on a transformation and uplift journey.

You’ll have the flexibility to work from home, with the expectation of only being in the office in Sydney (Norwest) or Melbourne one day per week, allowing you to balance career aspirations with life outside of work.

Who you’ll do it for:

A leading not-for-profit organisation that is embarking on a bold enterprise transformation, and data is one of its core pillars. Right now, it’s a blank canvas for change. There’s no enterprise-wide data strategy or vision, no clear ownership, no modern infrastructure and no master data management. Systems are fragmented, governance is inconsistent, and foundational capabilities are weak.

As their Head of Data, you’ll drive this transformation, with full autonomy and empowerment from the Chief Technology Officer. You’ll define the vision, set the strategy, and build the systems, structures, and team necessary to turn things around.

You’ll design a scalable, API-connected data ecosystem, leveraging platforms like Azure and Databricks, while leading the rollout of master data management, formal data governance, and data security frameworks.

Once the foundations are in place, you’ll partner with the CTO and executive team to shape the organisation’s AI strategy.

What you’ll need:

· Minimum 2 years in a Data Leadership role (Head of Data, Data Lead, Lead Data Engineer etc).

· Proven track record developing and executing enterprise-wide data strategies aligned to organisational goals.

· Strong hands-on capability - able to operate at both strategic and technical levels, with a willingness to be directly involved in architecture, tooling, and delivery; and

· Deep expertise across modern data platforms and tools such as Databricks, Azure Data Lake, Data Factory and Power BI.
