The role

• Define and implement the strategic and operational blueprint for a modern risk and audit function
• Develop a comprehensive enterprise-wide risk management framework aligned with best practices
• Formulate organizational risk appetite and key risk indicators for executive and board-level endorsement
• Build and lead a high-performing team through strategic hiring, coaching, and professional development
• Evaluate, select, and implement appropriate tools and systems to support governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) activities
• Design and execute an annual audit plan based on risk priorities and aligned with strategic goals
• Deliver targeted internal audits covering critical operational, financial, and compliance-related risks
• Oversee loss prevention initiatives, including inventory integrity and investigations into policy breaches
• Produce clear, insightful reporting for senior stakeholders, including executive leadership and board committees
• Advance the use of data analytics to support proactive risk identification and audit quality

About you

• Circa 10 years experience across risk and internal audit
• Experienced people leader - essential
• Background in retail, or similar. This could be any fast paced product based business - i.e. FMCG, ecommerce, hospitality, etc.
