Position Vacant: Laser Operator - Afternoon Shift

At our Meadowbrook Facility in Brisbane, QLD

Full-time Permanent - 38 hours per week - Monday to Friday

Afternoon Shift operates 1:30pm-10pm Monday to Thursday and 11:30am-5:30pm on Friday.

All candidates will be considered, including candidates who wish to move from plasma to laser operation, or candidates with other relevant operator experience.

We have a reputation of providing quality and consistent service, especially for mission critical applications.

About the Role:

Laser Operators are responsible for the smooth operation of our TRUMPF laser fleet, all of which are optioned with a Liftmaster loader. Laser Operators are tasked with producing an extremely high level of quality laser cut parts, ensuring the correct materials and machine configuration is used to keep the machine at full operating capacity 24 hours per day.

Picking and sorting parts at Express Metal Products is completed in the Quality Assurance area of our factory however laser operators are our first line of defence in identifying and rectifying quality issues.

You will be cutting exhibition quality mild steels, stainless steels, and aluminium on our TRUMPF fiber and CO2 lasers, whilst ensuring the constant operation of our automation technologies.

Key Requirements:

The successful candidate will likely have:

Real industry experience operating CNC laser cutting plant (experience with Trumpf Fiber and CO2 lasers will be highly regarded)

Material knowledge - able to identify different grades of mild steel/aluminium/stainless

Attention to detail

Experience with automation technologies (Trumpf loaders, ERP systems, other industrial automation technologies)

History as a reliable team member

A forklift license
