Flourish Community Solutions has contractor opportunities for family-centred professionals and support workers across Rockhampton and Surrounding areas. Various pieces of work are available, including various hours, days, and periods of contracts. The usual contract time is 3 - 6 months, often with extension options.

***Specific piece of work for a 3-6-month contract for fortnightly weekend cover for family contact arrangements, total 6 hours per fortnight. Immediate start available*** Can work as a second job.

The opportunity requires working directly with families in their own homes and communities, supporting them in scheduled family contact, and assisting with reconnecting the family.

The rate is based on qualifications and experience. We are looking for support workers who are interested in supporting change and embracing individuality and are driven to achieve outcomes. Reliability and dedication to deliver therapeutic, caring support are a must.

Your Opportunity:

In this role, you will facilitate individualized support to achieve sustainable change in families with complex needs, whilst working alongside the family to prevent a family from entering or re-entering the statutory child protection system.

You must be personable, caring, and have a genuine passion for helping others. Direct work with families and young people is a must and you will be required to guide, mentor, and facilitate their development, implement support strategies, connect them to services and community, support and guide them in safe behavior or safe parenting, mental health support and drive their intervention journey forward with them at the forefront.

Key outcome requirements:

Providing specialist therapeutic intervention to children and families experiencing child protection issues and direct youth support, working with mental health, DFV, AOD, Neurodiverse, and complex behaviors may be required.

Assistance to access community connections and education in parenting upskilling and psychosocial support is required. The ability to manage, mitigate, and report risk

Transportation to appointments or contact arrangements is required for this specific piece of work

Engage with families and young people, explore mutual obligations, complete required forms, and develop collaborative goals from a strengths-based, child-centered, family-focused practice framework

Provide early intervention-focused services, support families to strengthen the care and protection of children living at home, strengthen parenting practice, and increase the safety and well-being of the family.

Drive the case plan working alongside families and stakeholders, providing appropriate links and connections where possible, Case Plans are provided by our case management team, support workers contribute to this in alignment with the family.

Respect and seek cultural advice to ensure client families have access to a range of culturally safe support options, where appropriate.

Requirements for Success

Qualifications in Social Work, Community Services, Youth Work, Mental Health, DFV, Social Welfare, and Family Intervention.

Experience in implementing therapeutic interventions with young people and/or families.

Understanding of Child Protection legislation and child protection concerns and risk factors, problem solvers

Demonstrated understanding of Early Intervention principles in working with families with multiple and complex needs.

Knowledge and awareness of community and regional connections to assist clients with their access to the community

Professional boundaries and understanding of confidentiality

Demonstrated crisis management, referral, and advocacy skills.

Case management experience - desirable

Ability to perform and understand casework with a level of autonomy, seeking support from upline when required.

The ability to work as a team and be open to feedback to meet outcomes.
