Data Product Manager – Surveillance, Risk, Regulatory | Financial Services

• Salary: $165,000 package
• Full time Permanent role - 3 days in the office, 2 days working from home

This leading Australian Financial Services organisation is on the lookout for a Data Product Manager to help drive data delivery initiatives focused on risk surveillance and regulatory compliance. You'll play a critical role in bridging business, data, and technology - ensuring the right data gets to the right place, in the right shape.

What you’ll be doing

• Act as the key connector between the Surveillance team, Traders, and Data team
  
  
  
  
• Translate business needs into actionable data solutions - ensuring successful delivery while maintaining data integrity, quality, and alignment with strategic priorities.
  
  
  
  
• Drive data delivery projects related to surveillance and regulatory reporting
  
  
  
  
• Define and document data requirements, mapping, and specifications for onboarding trade data
  
  
  
  
• Own the end-to-end process from stakeholder engagement to delivery, testing, and quality checks
  
  
  
  
• Navigate grey areas and conflicting priorities to bring clarity and direction
  
  
  
  
• Educate stakeholders on data literacy and contribute to broader data strategy initiatives
  
  
  
  

What we're looking for

• Degree in Economics, Finance, or related fields
  
  
  
  
• 5-7 years’ experience as a Data Consultant, Data Business Analyst OR Technical Business Analyst in banking, financial services or consulting.
  
  
  
  
• Solid understanding of trade lifecycle data, (ideally cash equities), market data, data governance and data quality.
  
  
  
  
• Exposure to Risk Surveillance Platforms (in-house or vendor-based)
  
  
  
  
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills - you’re confident speaking with traders, risk surveillance SMEs, and data engineers alike
  
  
  
  
• Experience producing clear data documentation and mapping
  
  
  
  
• Ability to use SQL to query and validate data
  
  
  
  
• A strategic thinker who’s also comfortable rolling up their sleeves
  
  
  
  
• A self-starter who is comfortable having tough conversations, managing conflicting priorities, and pushing back on stakeholders who may not fully grasp the data and its underlying importance
  
  
  
  
• Experience working in agile environments
