The Position:
Full Time
Salary $85,000 + per year
Reporting to the Manager New Product Development, this full-time role is based in Brisbane HQ. We are seeking an experienced Food Scientist with exceptional skills and experience to join our team. As a key member of our science and support team, you will play a pivotal role in our organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop and uphold highest quality analysis and validation processes, technical and reporting documentation, and testing procedures for new and existing products.
· Laboratory analysis and testing of samples, including physical, chemical and microbiological techniques
· Maintain a robust quality management system.
· Champion CAPA investigations into non-conformances and calibrations of out-of-specifications (OOS), providing in-depth analysis and solutions, and instigating corrective and preventative measures.
· Uphold stringent compliance with cGMP across operational processes.
· Collaborate closely with clients and cross-functional teams including market engagement, operations, and supply chain to drive seamless integration of new product development and other commercial initiatives.
· Foster a culture of teamwork and innovation to achieve collective goals.
· Develop methodology for scale up of new product formulations from lab bench/prototype to commercial scale.
· Supervise and instruct production teams to implement methodology on commercial manufacturing equipment.
Qualifications:
Tertiary Qualifications & Experience:
· Bachelor’s Degree Food Science or equivalent
· Minimum of two years of experience in a hands-on product development role.
· Demonstrated experience in quality assurance within a highly regulated environment.
· Comprehensive understanding and application of GMP, GLP, HACCP and other regulatory requirements, principles and standards.
Skills and Competencies:
· Strong critical thinking and solution orientated problem-solving skills.
· Outstanding communication skills for effective collaboration with key stakeholders.
· Meticulous documentation and reporting within a team environment.
· Proficient in project management methodologies and quality systems, with a proven ability to bring products from concept to commercialization.
· Develop and manage validation processes, technical documentation, and testing procedures for new and existing products.
· Ensure robust quality management by operating system for accurate data entry, maintenance, and sample data retrieval.
Knowledge and Attributes:
· Sound knowledge of Regulatory and Food Safety Legislation, systems, standards and compliance.
· Passionate about human and animal health and natural product development.
· Open to learning and adopting new techniques and staying up to date with industry regulations and science.
