About the role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker to join the Above Care Services' team in Dubbo, NSW. This is a casual role, offering flexible work options to support individuals with disabilities in their daily lives.As a Disability Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to our clients, with a focus on supporting Torres Strait Islander or Aboriginal individuals and communities.

What you'll be doing

Assisting clients with personal care tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation

Providing social and recreational support, including community access and participation

Demonstrated experience in providing person-centred support to individuals with disabilities, particularly Torres Strait Islander or Aboriginal clients

A deep understanding and appreciation of Torres Strait Islander or Aboriginal cultures, traditions, and community needs

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients

Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of others individualised support plans to help clients achieve their goals

Maintaining detailed client records and documentation

Collaborating with the wider support team to ensure seamless service delivery

What we're looking for

Relevant experience in the disability support or community services sector

A genuine passion for empowering and advocating for individuals with disabilities

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team

Relevant qualifications, such as a Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent

A valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
