About the Role

We are on the lookout for kind, compassionate Disability Support Workers experienced in personal care and behaviour management to join our team located in Chisholm, working with psychosocial challenges.

You will be working directly with complex trauma, mental health challenges and personal care requirements. Your flexibility across a 24/7 roster will help provide consistent, holistic support to build their capacity and achieve their goals.

Sleep over shifts and some weekend work is a requirement of the role.

Skills and Experience

Certificate IV in Community Service/Disability Services or equivalent qualification

Experience in the disability or mental health sector or experience as an AIN (Assistance in Nursing) or EN (Enrolled Nurse)

Experience in Personal Care and Manual handling

A responsible attitude and strong rapport building skills – strong skills in maintaining positive, dignified and respectful relationships with participants, their families and other health and support workers

Ability to use clear and concise language in verbal communication and set clear boundaries

Demonstrated ability to calmly de-escalate emotive situations

Ability to apply understanding of ‘duty of care’ to delivering support services and escalate issues when required

Demonstrated ability to write and maintain accurate written records and documentation

Demonstrated flexibility in delivering a broad range of services for NDIS participants

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
