We are seeking an experienced and proactive Manager to lead our small, passionate team delivering wellbeing and social connection programs for older adults across metropolitan Brisbane. This senior role oversees all aspects of service delivery, governance compliance, stakeholder engagement, and organisational development. Reporting directly to the Management Committee, the Manager ensures that all programs and activities meet funding requirements, align with community needs, and reflect the organisation’s mission of enhancing the well-being and social connection of older people in the Brisbane region.

Combining big-picture leadership with hands-on operational oversight, the Manager fosters a respectful, collaborative team culture while ensuring program delivery aligns with aged care standards (CHSP, HCP, NDIS), supports community well-being, and reflects Metro Community Hub's mission.

Key Responsibilities

Drive and oversee organisational strategy, innovation, and long-term planning in consultation with the Management Committee

Ensure governance, risk management, and compliance across all MCH programs, aligning with relevant legislation and funding requirements

Supervise and support Coordinator, Engagement & Events Lead, and Transport/Services Officer, including oversight of volunteer management systems

Supervise and support the Coordinator, ensuring consistent delivery and continuous improvement of participant assessment processes and personalised care planning, alongside broader operational responsibilities

Maintain strong knowledge of CHSP, aged care reforms, and Quality Standards

Plan, coordinate, and facilitate regular team meetings and required participant-specific training, with an emphasis on person-centred goals and outcomes, reflective practice, and risk management

Oversee DEX reporting and contribute to CHSP audits, reviews, and reports

Liaise with funding bodies, community partners, stakeholders, and collaborators

Lead grant writing, partnership development, and new service scoping

Ensure effective internal communication and team support across all programs

Represent MCH at external forums, local networks, and government consultations

Oversee participant feedback systems and implement improvement initiatives

Manage operational risks, service gaps, and support resolution of issues

Lead financial planning and accountability, including budget development, forecasting, and resource oversight in collaboration with the bookkeeper and Management Committee

Support marketing, communication, and social media strategy in collaboration with the Engagement and Events Lead

Provide high-level strategic advice and operational reporting to the Management Committee and support the implementation of governance decisions

Role Requirements

Tertiary qualifications in community services, aged care, social work, or related field

Minimum 5 years experience in program leadership or service management

Demonstrated experience in aged care programs, quality standards, and compliance

Excellent people leadership and team development skills

Strong written communication and report-writing ability

Experience in funding applications, partnerships, and stakeholder engagement

High-level understanding of participant-centred care, diversity, and inclusion principles

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, participant databases, and cloud-based systems

National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
