The National Intelligence Academy is seeking passionate professionals for several APS5 & APS6 roles across various Learning & Development functions.
This EOI opportunity is only available to current Commonwealth employees with a minimum of a current NV1 security clearance.
The Team
The National Intelligence Academy (NIA) aims to improve the capability and interconnectivity of the National Intelligence Community (NIC) through the delivery of training on intelligence skills aligned to current and future needs.
The NIA focuses its curriculum on developing the skills that underpin a national intelligence profession and building the unified and collaborative culture that support an integrated NIC.
The NIA is looking for experienced trainers and learning and development professionals for a range of roles. If you have a passion for learning and development, have experience designing and delivery training programs, and/or experience leading learning-focused teams to deliver excellent outcomes, we want to hear from you.
The Role
We have several roles available across various Learning and Development (L&D) functions.
As an APS5 or APS6 member of the team you may:
- Manage and administer participant course enrolments and processes, and provide advice to improve business practices;
- Coordinate the logistics and provide administrative support to the delivery of training, including venue hire, equipment set up, and catering arrangements;
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including the learning management system provider to improve the user experience;
- Liaising with L&D areas across the NIC to provide advice on courses;
- Assist with strategic planning and day-to-day operations, including procurement and contract management of training services, course management, learning management system, and marketing and promotion;
- Support the delivery of training programs;
- Conduct course evaluations and analysis data and information for continuous course improvement.

The successful applicant will have:
- A passion for building capability across the APS and the NIC;
- The ability to apply critical thinking and sound judgement in support of improvements to business systems and processes;
- Strong liaison and communication skills, with the ability to work with, lead, and positively influence colleagues and external stakeholders;
- Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise tasks to achieve outcomes that meet organisational objectives;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Skills and Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications and/or experience in a relevant field;
- The ability to work effectively in a diverse team and work collaboratively to respond to business priorities;
- Security clearance of NV1 or above.
