What you’ll do

In this teaching and research focussed role you will make a significant contribution to the delivery of counselling courses by:

  • Working collaboratively with other Counselling and Psychology staff to ensure that these courses are effective at engaging students in areas of foundation counselling, counselling approaches and group facilitation
  • Initiating, developing, and delivering course materials in lectures, tutorials and workshops via on-campus and on-line modes of learning and teaching
  • Contributing to research innovation and leadership, practice and/or policy

About You

In addition to a Masters or PhD in psychology and/or counselling, and experience as a registered practitioner, you will also have:

  • Demonstrated teaching and research expertise in professional counselling in areas of expertise such as children, relationship and family counselling, trauma, and/or knowledge of addiction and associated interventions.
  • Must hold or be eligible for Australian Counselling Associate (ACA) Level 4 membership, and/or Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) Clinical membership
  • Demonstrated experience in the preparation and delivery of online course materials, course coordination and marking of assessment and student placements

Term: Full-time continuing appointment (37.5 hrs/week)

Salary:

Lecturer - Total remuneration range for full-time appointment $128,506 to $151,889 pa (includes salary range of $108,581 to $128,339 pa, employer superannuation contributions up to 17% of salary and annual leave loading)

Senior Lecturer - Total remuneration range for full-time appointment $156,562 to $179,946 pa (includes salary range of $132,287 to $152,045 pa, employer superannuation contributions up to 17% of salary and annual leave loading)
