At Churches of Christ, we’ve been supporting communities for over 140 years, positively impacting thousands of lives. Now, we’re looking for a Practice Advisor to drive service excellence in Children, Youth & Family Services.
Your Day-to-Day:
- Research and review contemporary therapeutic resources and future perspectives; facilitate the implementation of practice models and drive change initiatives.
- Advise, support and build the capacity of services to continuously improve service quality within organisation and legislative requirements; respond to client complaints and grievances.
- Conduct training needs analysis and develop, coordinate and deliver training plans and programs utilising appropriate delivery modes and adult learning principles.
- Assist to develop, implement and review policy, work instructions and procedures; ensure records are maintained under organisational and legislative processes.
- Assist to review critical incident management reports, analyse risks and trends and provide support and recommendation for incident management and systemic issues.
- Provide advice in the management of complex cases and consultancy in relation to specific issues and group dynamics.
- Work sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, children, young people, families and communities to provide culturally inclusive services and achieve sustainable outcomes within a culturally safe environment with the aim of circumventing the intergenerational cycle of over-representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children in care.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- A degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Social Sciences.
- At least 3 years’ experience in child and family services, preferably in statutory care.
- Knowledge of child protection frameworks, trauma theory, and family violence legislation.
- Strong training, coaching, and advisory skills.
- A passion for continuous improvement and service excellence.
- A current driver’s licence.
- A current National Police Certificate, Working with Children (Blue Card), Child Safety and Personal History Screening Check (LCS) – or the ability to obtain.
Bonus Points If You Have:
- Cert IV in Training & Assessment.
- Experience in policy development and service improvement.
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems or e-learning tools.
