The Department of Communities brings together the services and functions of disability services, child protection and family support, housing, community initiatives and regional services reform.

Communities is a nationally recognised Accredited Carer Friendly Employer through the Carers + Employers program. The program defines best practice standards by creating a carer friendly workplace, enabling staff to balance work and care, while continuing to contribute to the wellbeing of individuals, families and the community.

The Opportunity

Currently seeking for suitable candidates to be considered for permanent or fixed term opportunities within our Business Services and Disability Division:

The Data Office and other Data areas across the Department, are dedicated to identifying opportunities to use data to inform decision-making based on evidence. Our teams consist of highly skilled, multidisciplinary individuals who will lead various data projects, initiatives, services, or systems to support the Department's goals. The positions require working collaboratively and flexibly, being culturally responsive, and embodying the Department's values.

The Data areas within Communities provide advice and guidance on the ethical management of Communities' data and knowledge assets. We develop and implement strategies for data governance, analytics, modelling, performance reporting (including annual reporting and key performance indicators), and monitoring and evaluating projects, programs, and initiatives. We use this information to inform policy, research, redesign and evaluation of services, and to inform planning for the recommissioning of social services. Additionally, we offer guidance on the compliant use of Communities' data.

Our focus is on fostering a data-driven culture and regularly collaborating within the department and with external stakeholders.
