The Governance and Legal team works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes that achieve EDQ's strategic objectives.

The team works across the following areas:
legal services and commercial structures | corporate governance and compliance to relevant legislation | company secretariat | integrity and ethics | internal audit and enterprise risk management | legislative oversight of Economic Development Act 2012 | corporate planning and performance.

As Principal Governance Officer (Risk), you will have opportunity to contribute to the objectives of the Governance and Legal team in the following ways:
Contribute to the design, development, implementation and maintenance of EDQ's frameworks, processes and controls for managing risk in consultation with business leaders and stakeholders.

Foster relationships to enable you to act as a trusted and influential advisor, with a focus on supporting others to achieve their outcomes while addressing matters related to risk, fraud prevention, and business continuity.

Partner with stakeholders to build organisational capability and strengthen the quality of their risk management related to strategic, operational and projects and assurance knowledge and practices and the integration with strategic and business operations.

Identify opportunities for efficiencies and improved process experiences. Regularly source information and stay attuned to the changing strategic and operational environment.

Prepare presentations, dashboards, reports and executive correspondence for the Board, the Board Committees and the Executive Leadership Team.

Implement and administer EDQ's risk management system.

Establish effective working relations with key stakeholders within EDQ and the wider government community.

Take an agile and flexible approach to ensuring deliverables and methods align to business expectations.

Contribute to a positive and rewarding team environment that values performance, superior client service, continuous improvement and innovation in the delivery of high-quality services.

Managing Internal Audit and workplace investigations with external providers.
