You’ll partner with key business units and external counsel to deliver high-quality legal outcomes in a collaborative and agile environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

Advising on legal and regulatory matters affecting the bank’s consumer lending, products, and operations

Identifying, assessing, and mitigating legal risks and compliance issues

Managing breach assessments and preparing regulatory notifications

Reviewing customer documentation and marketing collateral for legal accuracy

Supporting legal proceedings and overseeing the work of external legal counsel

Working closely with senior leaders to support business objectives and protect the bank’s reputation

What We’re Looking For

5 PQE+ ideally with experience in retail banking law

Eligibility to hold an unrestricted practising certificate in Australia

Strong understanding of financial services regulation, including the Corporations Act and NCCP Act

Ability to translate complex legal issues into practical advice for non-lawyers

Experience working with regulators such as ASIC or APRA is highly regarded

A proactive, independent thinker who thrives in a fast-paced environment
