What you'll be doing

  • Provides clerical and administrative support to all the Health Care Teams at the Broken Hill Community Health Centre.
  • Work independently with the support of a team.
  • Undertake office administration and management duties, maintaining and ordering stock, stationery, and other supplies.
  • Using CHOC scheduling for all client appointments.
  • Complete all room bookings for the CHC.

How to apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria in the application as thoroughly as possible:

  • Certificate lll in Health Administration or Office administration, or recent experience within a Healthcare setting
  • Excellent communication skills including spelling and comprehension, excellent verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to deal confidently and courteously with clients and health professionals.
  • Demonstrated experience in MS Office Suite of applications, spreadsheet and database software, electronic scheduling and email systems.
  • Demonstrated strong organisational and time management skills and ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Demonstrated capacity to work under broad supervision and to undertake a diverse range of tasks as an effective member of a team in high pressure, high volume work environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to adhere to the defined standards of ethical and professional conduct consistent with the current NSW Health Code of conduct and /or relevant professional standards where applicable

About Far West NSW Local Health District

Broken Hill, NSW, Australia

Bordering three states, Far West Local Health District (LHD) covers 194,949 square kilometres in remote NSW. The LHD is sparsely populated, with 62% of its approximately 30,000 inhabitants living in the Silver City of Broken Hill. The remainder of the population live in agricultural towns along the Murray River, in small remote communities of 80-800 people or on stations throughout the LHD. Far West LHD is the most sparsely populated LHD in NSW and has the highest proportion of Aboriginal residents (9.6%). The population is decreasing, ageing and experiencing significant morbidity related to lifestyle factors and chronic illness.
