Forward-thinking Managed Service Provider (MSP) dedicated to providing outstanding IT support and solutions to businesses across various industries requires an experienced Level 2 Systems Engineer to join a close-knit team.

This is a small business with a stable team and an impressive portfolio of clients up to the likes of major banks and retail organisations.

Position Overview:

You will be responsible for troubleshooting, resolving technical issues, and ensuring optimal performance across various client's systems and networks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Client Support: Act as the primary point of contact for escalated technical issues, providing second-line support to clients through tickets, email, and phone.
• Troubleshooting & Resolution: Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, and networking issues in a timely manner. Ensure issues are documented and resolved effectively.
• System & Network Administration: Manage and maintain server infrastructure, including Active Directory, Office 365, VMware, and Hyper-V environments. Perform backups, monitoring, and security patching.
• Project Work: Assist with the implementation of IT projects such as server migrations, network upgrades, and cloud deployments.
• Collaboration: Work closely with Level 1 engineers, management, and clients to ensure the highest standards of service delivery.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of support activities and solutions, ensuring the knowledge base is continually updated.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with emerging technologies and best practices to help improve systems and processes.

About you:

• 5+ years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or a similar role, ideally within an MSP environment but will also consider in-house
• Proficient in troubleshooting Windows Server, Linux, and macOS environments.
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
• Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
• Hands-on experience with Office 365, Azure Active Directory, and cloud services.
• Familiarity with backup solutions and disaster recovery plans.
