Our Pre-kindergarten seeks to appoint a kind, caring, enthusiastic and experienced EDUCATION ASSISTANT – Diploma Qualified (or working towards), who has a passion for working with young children. They will work closely with the Head Teacher and team of EAs to deliver a dynamic pre-kindy program. This is a full-time, ongoing position.

About Us

Climb Pre-kindergarten is a beautiful Reggio Inspired pre-kindy in Innaloo with an excellent reputation in the community and a fond following of families. Our tailored curriculum meets the special learning and developmental needs of children aged 2.5 to 4 years in an educational, social, creative, and fun learning environment. We are open between 8.00 am and 4.00 pm, Monday to Friday, 48 weeks of the year.

To provide a high-quality program for children within a safe and nurturing pre-kindergarten environment. Our philosophy on early education is influenced by the Reggio Emilia approach and adheres to the Early Years Learning Framework.

Qualifications, Requirements and Expectations

We are looking for someone with a kind and caring demeanour, who understands play, and who shows genuine enthusiasm for working with young children.

You will work under the guidance of an experienced management leadership team and qualified early childhood teacher to provide rich learning experiences in a purposeful and aesthetically pleasing environment. A warm and personable approach to engaging with the Climb community is key to success in this position.

To be considered, you will require a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or working towards), a Current Working with Children Check, Medical Certificate and Current First Aid.

You will need to be able to support our Philosophy and offer a special attribute to our program.

You will require excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, and proficiency with technology, digital programming/communication, and social media.

The Following Desirable Criteria are to be Addressed with Evidence in your Cover Letter

*Have previous knowledge and experience working in a school or childcare industry as an Education Assistant, experience with 2.5 to 4-year-old age group attractive.

*Demonstrate an understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards.

*Have knowledge of the Reggio Emilia Approach

*Demonstrate a passion for either the Arts, Indigenous Perspectives, the Community and/or Sustainable practices.

Key Responsibilities Include:

-To work as a team and assist the Head Teacher in planning an innovative and engaging child-initiated curriculum that incorporates both indoor and outdoor environments

-To help review and document children's learning and development through goal setting, making children's learning visible.

-To participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Climb philosophy whilst adhering to policies and procedures.

-To continue professional development by seeking opportunities to further knowledge and understanding.

-To work collaboratively with colleagues through effective communication and to also have the ability to work autonomously.

-To form strong relationships with our educators, families, and children.

-To be organised, prioritise tasks and meet necessary deadlines.
