About the role
South West Compressors is seeking a dedicated Spare Parts & Inventory Officer to join our team on a part-time basis, starting with 3 days per week. This key role will be responsible for maintaining efficient inventory management and ensuring the timely availability of critical spare parts to support our operations in Davenport, WA 6230. This role will be perfect for a semi-retired professional who is looking to join a dynamic and growing team but not work full time hours.
What you'll be doing
Oversee the ordering, receiving, storage and distribution of spare parts and consumables
Conduct regular stock takes and audits to maintain accurate inventory records
Identify opportunities to optimise inventory levels and minimise obsolescence
Coordinate with operations and maintenance teams to forecast and fulfil spare parts requirements
Manage relationships with key suppliers and ensure timely delivery of parts
Support the implementation of inventory control systems and processes
Provide reporting and data analysis to inform inventory management decisions
What we're looking for
5+ years' experience in a spare parts or inventory management role, ideally in a manufacturing or logistics environment
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Proficient in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office applications
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Understanding of warehousing and materials handling processes
Passion for improving efficiency and contributing to operational excellence
