About the role

The Sustainability Engagement Manager – Strata Resilience is responsible for leading a small team to develop, deliver and evaluate sustainability programs targeting our high-density strata buildings and communities. This role requires strategic thinking and strong advocacy skills to work with government agencies, industry and community partners to leverage policy and legislation and engage strata communities to embrace sustainability and build resilience.

This is a great opportunity to deliver environmental performance as well as economic and social benefit through advocacy, programs and grants.

We’re looking for an experienced manager with:

tertiary qualifications at degree level in a relevant discipline, with higher degree qualifications desirable

demonstrated capability in evaluation, design and delivery of sustainability programs to drive environmental outcomes in line with the city’s ambitious targets. You will lead the evaluation of the Smart Green Apartments Program and the evolution of the city’s support to residential strata communities

proven experience influencing state and federal governments, peak organisations, relevant NGOs and key stakeholders to achieve strategic outcomes, legislative and regulatory change.

expert knowledge on matters related to sustainability in strata including legislation, resources and communications for key stakeholder groups including the general public, as well as providing briefings and reports for Council.

This role has the option of a rostered day off each month, known as a 19-day month.
