About the Role
We have a great opportunity for an experienced Associate Director, NSW Government Strategic Communications to join the Communications and Engagement team at the Premier's Department. Based in the Delivery and Engagement Group, the Associate Director, NSW Government Strategic Communications will lead a high-performing team to develop, implement, and evaluate integrated communication strategies for key government initiatives.
In this critical role, the Associate Director, NSW Government Strategic Communications will manage high-priority, All-of-Government communications projects, collaborate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, and help shape the strategic direction of government communications. You will also provide expert advice and strategic recommendations to senior executives to ensure the effective delivery of NSW Government priorities.
Reporting to the Director, Communications and Engagement, the Associate Director, NSW Government Strategic Communications will be responsible for leading communications planning for major government projects, ensuring consistent messaging across agencies, and driving continuous improvements in communication practices.

- Strategic Communications Leadership: Experience in developing and managing All-of-Government communication strategies for high-priority initiatives
- Expert Advisory Skills: Ability to provide strategic advice and recommendations to senior executives to guide decision-making.
- Team Leadership & Development: Experience leading and mentoring high-performing teams to achieve business goals and improve communication practices
- Cross-Sector Coordination: Proven ability to coordinate communication efforts across multiple government agencies to ensure consistent messaging
- Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration: Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
- Continuous Improvement: Commitment to driving innovation and best practices in communications strategies and delivery.

Salary: Clerk Grade 11/12. Package includes base salary ($145,378 - $168,130) plus superannuation (11.5%) and leave loading.
